If you are not aware of the term, it is when water flows overland and seeps into buildings through windows, doors and cracks. Floods have affected hundreds of thousands of Canadians and cause millions of dollars in damages each year. However, the bigger concern for many Canadian homeowners is that they are not insured for overland flooding, and can be left to deal with expensive repairs and replacing valuables.

According to Fire Prevention Canada, home fires occur most often in the winter season.     ServiceMaster Peterborough was the proud sponsor again this year of Family Day with the Petes.  Proceeds from this event go to Five Counties Children's Centre.  After the Peterborough Petes took on the Sudbury Wolves the Petes players joined the fans on the ice for a free family skate.  This event brings ServiceMaster's total contribution to Five Counties Children's Centret over $45,000!

    In addition to helping Kawartha Food Share assist more than 8,100 across the County and City of Peterborough, ServiceMaster Peterborough helps them provide healthy snacks to student nutrition programs at 51 area schools.  Through these breakfast and meal programs they are helping to feed over 17,000 school-aged children every single day.
