    ServiceMaster Peterborough continues to aid the Kawartha Food Share

    In addition to helping Kawartha Food Share assist more than 8,100 across the County and City of Peterborough, ServiceMaster Peterborough helps them provide healthy snacks to student nutrition programs at 51 area schools.  Through these breakfast and meal programs they are helping to feed over 17,000 school-aged children every single day.

    At Christmas time we are constantly reminded of the needs of others and the importance of helping everyone enjoy this significant time of year.  The Salvation Army Hamper Program distributes food and toys for many families and individuals during the Christmas season.  The donation made by ServiceMaster Peterborough will help achieve the Salvation Army's goal in helping those less fortunate in our city and surrounding area, not only at Christmas but throughout the year through their community programs that provide emergency assistance (food, heat, etc.) to families and individuals.

    ServiceMaster Peterborough was a proud supporter of "An Evening With Landsberg and Friends".  This was a local Peterborough event focusing on mental health and encouraging others to speak up.

    The event included celebrity speakers such as, broadcaster Michael Landsberg, Clint Malarchuk, Theo Fleury, Haley Wickenheiser and TSN broadcaster Jennifer Hedger.  Celebrity guests included former NHLers Luke Richardson, Steve Larmer and Cory Stillman, professional golfer Andrew Jensen of Ottawa, retired skater Barbara Underhill and OHL Commissioner and CHL President David Branch.

    ServiceMaster Peterborough supports the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation's Commonwealth Charity Golf Tournament in Lindsay, Ontario.  Our particpation helps patients at the Ross by ensuring life-saving tools are available at the patients' bedside.  It also helps by encouraging physicians and staff with support for their complex work.

    In addition to Peterborough's local walk, ServiceMaster Peterborough proudly supported Durham Region's Walk to Cure Huntington Disease.

    The money raised from his event will go toward excellent and much needed services such as:  individual and family services, education and awareness, meetings and workshops, as well as research.

    ServiceMaster Peterborough was proud to be the presenting sponsor again this year for the annual fundraising walk in support of the Huntington Society of Canada.  This signature fundraising event aims to be enjoyable for all ages as well as raise much needed funds to support Canadians living with and affected by Huntington Disease.  Organized by volunteers from the Peterborough Chapter, the walk attracts hundreds of supporters for this worthy cause.

    In Support of Canadian Mental Health Association's Kids on the Block Program

    ServiceMaster Peterborough proudly supported the Kids on the Block Program, which is an initiative by Canadian Mental Health Association. 

    Kids on the Block features life-sized puppets, who through the magic of live puppet theatre; explain and define mental health problems, teach children to understand feelings, provide children with an introduction to problem solving skills and enourage them to talk to trusted adults. This is an effective educational medium with easily inserted activities for the formal classroom, youth groups, and other child focused organizations.
